Base Aérienne 105 Evreux hosts three Escadres with C-160R Transalls and one composite Escadre flying Twin Otter, Cougar and Transall helicopters and aircraft.
Founded as a civil aerodrome in the 1920s the base saw extensive improvements in the 1930s, with French fighters and fighter-bombers being stationed here. During the German occupation Bf.109s, Ju.88s and Fw.190s were stationed here. After the war USAF took over control. After the USAF left the base was returned to the French Armée de l'Air.
Thanks to the impressive and varied history the air base features many dispersal areas. Most activity however nowadays is around the main ramp, east of the runway.
The base is situated northeast of Evreux near Fauville village. You can take exit 17 from the A13 L'Autoroute de Normandie and take the D316 to Saint Vigor and follow that to Caër. Take the N154 southbound to Evreux and you will approach the base from the north.
Alternatively, you can take exit 19 of the A13 and follow the N154, or take exit 15 and the N13 when coming from the southeast.
